According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the Supreme National Security Council has issued an important statement regarding the latest situation in the Strait of Hormuz and ceasefire negotiations with the United States.<\/p>\n
In its statement, the Supreme National Security Council stated that in recent days, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir arrived in Tehran accompanied by a high-level delegation from Pakistan and held meetings with the Iranian leadership. Praising Pakistan’s role as a mediator, the statement revealed that Field Marshal Asim Munir presented new U.S. proposals to the Iranian leadership, which are currently being reviewed and will receive a definitive response soon.<\/p>\n
Claiming victory in the conflict, the Supreme National Security Council stated that the U.S. must adjust its demands to reflect the reality that Iran is the victor. The council added that Iran had accepted the temporary ceasefire on the condition that it apply to all fronts, including Lebanon, but Israel violated the terms on the very first day by launching attacks on Lebanon and Hezbollah. The statement further noted that when Iran exerted pressure for a complete ceasefire, Israel agreed to a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon.<\/p>\n
The Iranian National Security Council stated that it is willing to keep the Strait of Hormuz temporarily open exclusively for commercial vessels, provided that ceasefires are strictly observed across all fronts. However, the statement emphasized that this access will remain subject to Iranian monitoring, designated shipping lanes, and restricted solely to non-military vessels, with surveillance continuing in the Strait until the war ends completely. The council asserted that military vessels from hostile countries will not be permitted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Much of the supply for U.S. military bases in the region passes through the Strait, a situation considered a security threat to Iran and the Persian Gulf.<\/p>\n
The Iranian National Security Council remarked that the U.S. initiated the war itself, but following its failure and the steadfast resistance of the Iranian people and armed forces, began sending requests for a ceasefire and negotiations by the tenth day of the conflict.<\/p>\n
