On the other hand, Iran has rejected a 48-hour deadline given by the US President to open the Strait of Hormuz, terming it unserious and unbalanced. It should be noted that the Strait of Hormuz is a vital passage for global energy supplies, through which approximately 20% of oil and gas is transported.
According to Iranian officials, US and Israeli strikes on the Mahshahr petrochemical zone left 5 people dead and 170 injured, while more than 30 universities have been targeted since the war began. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have shot down a US Reaper drone in the Isfahan area, which was searching for the missing US personnel.
