Green Shirts Out of T20 World Cup: Bowlers Fail to Restrict Sri Lanka Below 147
The Pakistan cricket team has been knocked out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semi-final race. In a crucial Super 8 match played in Kandy, Sri Lanka won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat.
Powered by explosive innings from Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman, Pakistan posted a massive total of 212-8 in their allotted 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan scored a brilliant century (100 runs), while Fakhar Zaman played a stellar knock of 84 runs.
To qualify for the semi-finals, Pakistan needed to restrict Sri Lanka to 147 runs or fewer, but the Pakistani bowlers were unable to defend the target within the required margin, ending their tournament campaign.
